Travelujah.com—Social Networking for Christians

Social networking sites are extremely popular that an average person has more than two to three profile accounts in different platforms, according to a recent study.  Meanwhile, to effectively target its market, social sites have its own specific market.

One example of a social site targeting a niche market is the Travelujah which is an online community for Christian believers.  With this online property, creators of this site are trying to use the Web 2.0 technology to reach Internet-savvy Christians.

Meanwhile, this social site also promotes travel to the Holy Land (Israel and Palestine)—almost in a sense that it appears to be a tourism advertisement.

The Travelujah also features the same tools used in most social platforms such as blog and other interactive tools such as bulletin and private messaging that will allow users to interact with other people.

In an interview with Travelujah founder and chief executive Elisa Moed said that traveling to the Holy Land renew people’s faith, adding that with the culture and spirituality of the place, anyone can have a deeper connection with his or her faith.

The website also allows users to access bible and other relevant information about Christianity such as the rich history, culture, and tradition of the people from the Holy Land.

Meanwhile, there are many social networking platforms which have been created to target a specific religious group.  One of the most well-known of these—especially in the Muslim countries—is the Muxlim which targets believers of Allah and their prophets Mohammed.

With the popularity of social platforms, experts said that these are even more popular than email accounts.
