Man Killed Wife Over Facebook “Single” Status
After seeing that his wife changed her relationship status from marital to single, a man killed her partner and even attempted to commit suicide.
Britain: The court convicted a man who killed his wife after she changed her relationship status to “single” on Facebook, according to a report.
Edward Richardson, 41, was sentenced with 18 years of imprisonment after killing his wife Sarah, 26.
According to police reports, Richardson murdered his wife by stabbing her few times using a knife. The incident happened inside the house of the parents’ victim in Biddulph, England.
Before the incident happened, Sarah left her husband and went to her parents’ house as she decided that her marriage with Richardson was over, according to a detective who was handling the case.
According to police findings, Richardson was angered because his wife changed her relationship status from marital to single on her Facebook profile.
After contacting her to ask about the profile status, Richardson went to parents’ house as Sarah was not replying to his messages.
Findings suggested that the man broke the front door window and went directly to Sarah’s room to kill her with by stabbing her multiple times with a knife.
After killing his wife, Richardson attempted to commit suicide but failed to do it.
Meanwhile, parents of Sarah, Beryl and Alan Boote said that they are hoping that Richardson will “be a very old man before he will be allowed to leave the prison.”
